Media Bio

Dr. Scyatta A. Wallace is a Psychologist/Teen Expert, writer and social entrepreneur.

Dr. Wallace is a graduate of Yale University and received her PhD from Fordham University where she specialized in child and adolescent development.

She grew up in the Washington DC area in low income housing, where she witnessed violence and the consequences of poverty. Despite those challenges and through the encouragement of her family, she used education as her vehicle to rise above her surroundings. It is those past experiences and through her work with teens that she understands the complexities of the issues facing today’s youth.

Dr. Wallace is a motivational youth speaker and CEO of a consulting firm, Janisaw Company which focuses on developing self-esteem and life skills programs for teen girls and young women. She is also an Associate Professor of Psychology (with tenure) at St. John’s University, where she teaches and mentors students.
